Tying an ascot is very similar to the four-in-hand knot that you would perform on a tie. 

The Ascot tie, as you may have noticed, is pretty big but chances are you ended up buying one that had a shorter midsection, like I did.

I actually had to bang my head against the wall a few times because of this. It seems that nobody knows how to tie such a tie. SO I finally figured it out through trial and error.

If your ascot is short, tie it just like in the videos above EXCEPT for the last step. Don’t put the longer end through the loop at the end, just leave it hanging. and widen it to cover as much of your neck as it possibly can.
